The different between Going to and Will

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

I watch and learn from this video and summarize it

Going to

- It mean that you already decided that you gonna do something

- Something that you had already plan to do

- Decided before speaking

- Likely to happen soon

- Use going to with the weather too, Example: It going to rain today

Use Going to if it a plan or something that it will happen soon, and use it when it a thing that most likely to happen.

Will

- Showing that you just decided something, it a rapid decisions.

Example like Attack on titan was on air 7 minute ago so I think I'll watch it now.

I wasn't plan to watch attack on titan but since it on air 7 minute ago so I'll watch it.

- For Making offer: I'll give you half of this., I'll buy this., I'll use the discount.

- Using for promises: I promise I'll be you friend forever., I promise I'll come back

- Using for dream: Someday I'll become the number one hero., Someday I'll wipe out all the titans

- Something that didn't happen soon

- "I will...." for requests to help or to volunteer.

Use Will when it a dream or a distant future and use it when it a thing that unlikely happen.

Example

I'll kill all titan

It a wish and it a dream to kill all titan in the distanced future.

I going to kill all titan

"I already plan to kill titan, and I'm going to kill titan outside the wall."

I'll become a greatest Hunter

This is a dream of becoming a hunter

I'm gonna be the greatest Hunter

He gonna walk on the path to become the greatest Hunter, he had prepared.
