Finish 1 Nov!!
What is it?
: Haunted Halloween in Europe and America "Save the fckin Cat" Edition is finished and available in OpenSea!!
Why this?
: Cause Cats turn in to ghost! And Haunted in Europe and America!! Please turn them back to Cats!
What did I get from this?
: I learn a lot! I learn how to outlining an architecture, how to do blur effect to make the background stand out, how to adjust the composition so the cat and the background look good together not messy and don't have a lot of negative spaces, learn how to use reference photo, and learn to be creative and adaptive.
How?
: umm... then let's read the diary together!
First Day
I customize the cat into..
Jacky the Pumpkin (Jack o' lantern)
Skully (skeleton)
Varmy (Vampire)
And Franky (Frankenstein)
Then I started made Background for every Cats started with Vampire Cat Background.
I drew the outline of the castle
and colored it, the color palette will give a classic old & antique vibe so I choose Grey as base and old red to match with Vampire cape.
I have a lot of trouble thinking of adding prop or how should I outlining the castle.
At first I thought that I should made a silhouette of the castle but it turn out to look like a giant black box and it look too boring.
So it end up looking like an old vintage halloween castle and a pack of bats
DONE!!
The Next Day...
I made the Michael Myer cat edition.
And....
I draw the house that appeared in the movie Halloween as a background.
Add the depth in the door (colour layer color of blue.)
Add the shadow by filter it as multiply layer.
Outlining boxes pattern below to make brick stair.
DONE!
Next,
I gave the lively and horror background for Jacky by draw a tombstone graveyard, add some haunted ghosts and the cross!!
And I did research about him from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYcojbXbbfQ too so I got more idea.
Then... I add the spooky purple mist aline with the golden moon and the a lot of cross sign with pumpkins.
I blend the background from orange to purple by using blur effect to make it look like sunset.
Next...
I did Franky background.
I researched and found an interesting frankenstein scene that are very haunted monotone spooky vibe.
I liked the frankenstein experimental room so I took that as my inspiration.
And after research, I feel like I had to remake Fracky cloth and gave him a SUIT.
But I like the dark green skin of Fracky so I didn't change it (the original frankenstein have pale green skin!!)
From what I saw in the reference picture, I analize and recreate the new Frankenstein scene.
I make it in modern style but still look mystery and vintage.
To design this controller was such a relaxation!!
So, in this Fracky background have 6 feature in the controller, when I create this I thought that it need to look like child play toy controller so the final result is very cute, look playful and minimal but monotone mysterious.
Done!!
And the last one is the Skully.
For the Background I want to play something different so instead of drew a places I drew a lot of skeleton faces.
And my keyword for this one is "Cartoon Comic!!"
Done!!
(it suppose to be done already...)
But(t)!!
The next Day.
I felt like the Michael Myer cat ain't scary enough, so I put on multiply layer and color it black then add another multiply to color the blood and it will look more realistic and wow....so CREEPY!
